Motorcycle That Works with Solar and Wind Energy Seems Like a Joke, But It’s Real. Prototype Combines Innovation and Sustainability in Two-Wheel Transport

A Chinese electric motorcycle has caught attention for its unusual proposal: in addition to a conventional battery, it features a roof equipped with solar panels and a wind turbine. Despite its strange appearance, the CG model from the manufacturer YongLE Risheng is real, available for purchase, and promises to run on clean energy.

The Chinese company specializes in vehicles powered by renewable sources and introduced the CG as part of its new product line.

The Chinese electric motorcycle resembles a modified version of the classic Honda CG125, but operates entirely on electricity. Its motor has 1500 W of power and is powered by a 30 Ah lithium phosphate battery.

Electric Motorcycle: Solar Panel on the Roof and Attached Turbine

The highlight of the model is on the roof of the electric motorcycle, which houses a 250 W solar panel and a small wind turbine mounted above it. It’s not a traditional design, but the idea is to generate energy even during use. The turbine and panel are secured to the chassis and rear axle with side supports.

According to the technical specifications, the electric motorcycle can reach a top speed of up to 59 km/h and has a range of 80 to 120 km under normal conditions. With only solar and wind energy, the range drops to about 50 km. It can also be charged from an outlet, a process that takes six to eight hours.

Simple Structure and Surprising Weight of the Electric Motorcycle

The model also features a three-speed transmission, disc brakes on both wheels, a telescopic front fork, and hydraulic shock absorbers in the rear. The total weight is 133 kg, considered light given the additional installed components.

Despite the technical curiosity, there is no concrete data on the actual performance of the electric motorcycle. The numbers released have not been verified by public testing or independent sources. Additionally, the design of the wind turbine raises safety concerns, especially in urban use.

Curious Catalog from the Same Manufacturer

Another product from the same company, the YLRS Fengchi160, blends tricycle and motorcycle and features a solar panel with two wind turbines on top. The portfolio of YongLE Risheng also includes electric boats, golf carts, and small vehicles powered by solar energy.

There are no prices available on the manufacturer’s website. Outside of China, the acceptance of the CG model may encounter local regulations, mainly due to the attached turbine. Still, the design of the Chinese electric motorcycle demonstrates how different ideas still find space in the world of electric vehicles.
