UEL will open 3 thousand places in distance undergraduate and specialization courses

The State University of Londrina (UEL) is about to take a big step in distance education, with the opening of 3 thousand places in distance Undergraduate and Specialization courses. This announcement was made by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) and the Open University System of Brazil (UAB), maintained by the Federal Government.

A promising future for distance learning at UEL

UEL never stops growing and innovating. For the years 2025 and 2026, the university will have a total of 3 thousand places distributed among different courses, both undergraduate and specialization. Among these vacancies, 1200 are for seven courses already approved by the institution:

• Degree in Computing: 150 vacancies (2025) + 150 vacancies (2026)
• Public Management Technologist: 150 vacancies (2025) + 150 vacancies (2026)
• Specialization in Computer Technology in Education: 150 vacancies (2025)
• Specialization in English for Children: 150 vacancies (2025)
• Specialization in Teaching Portuguese Language and Educational Technology: 150 vacancies (2025)
• Specialization in Inclusive Physical Education: 150 vacancies (2025)
• Specialization of Physical Education in Basic Education: 150 vacancies (2025)

In addition to these, UEL is preparing to launch new distance learning courses, adding 1.350 vacancies that still depend on internal processing.

Vacancies in national projects

But does not stop there! UEL was also selected to offer 450 places in three specializations on a national network:

• Specialization in Public Management: 150 vacancies
• Specialization in School Management: 150 vacancies
• Specialization 'Science is 10!': 150 vacancies

The last one, aimed at elementary school science teachers, is a unique initiative in Paraná, which only counts on UEL in this endeavor.

All information about courses, notices and registration deadlines will be published on the official websites. Stay tuned so you don't miss any updates. Generally, selection processes require documents such as ID, CPF, proof of residence, academic transcripts and previous diplomas. A historic landmark

Pedro Paulo Ayrosa, institutional coordinator of UAB at UEL and coordinator of Nead/UEL, celebrated the achievement. “This is the first time that UEL has a record number of places approved for federal funding from Capes for undergraduate and postgraduate courses and national projects. This is a historic milestone”, declared Ayrosa.

This achievement reflects the joint effort of universities in Paraná and a democratic articulation to identify the demands of institutions and municipalities in the State. Today, Paraná has 64 UAB centers distributed across all regions.

The trajectory of EaD at UEL

The UAB System, created by the Federal Government in 2006 and linked to Capes, aims to qualify basic education teachers, democratize access to higher education and encourage municipal development through professional training. UEL, through Nead, began its activities in 2009 and integrated into the UAB System in 2011.

Since then, Nead/UEL has trained approximately 3 students in various specialization and undergraduate courses. It currently serves around 550 students on courses such as Degree in Computing, Technologist in Public Management, Specialization in Computer Technology in Education and Specialization in Digital Education.

With the opening of 3 thousand places in distance Undergraduate and Specialization courses, UEL consolidates itself as an institution committed to the democratization and quality of education. This initiative not only expands access to higher education, but also strengthens the training of professionals throughout Brazil. It is a promising new chapter in the history of the State University of Londrina.
