Several free courses in the IT area are available at the State University of Ceará
According to a report by the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (BRASSCOM), by 2024, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Brazil will demand around 420 professionals annually in the IT area.

To contribute to meeting the demand in the IT sector, which today is already facing a shortage of qualified workers, and to give young people the opportunity of formal employment, the Ministries of Education and Economy, this month, launched the pilot program Qualifica Mais-Emprega More, which will offer, through the State University of Ceará (UECE), 296 places in free courses, of professional qualification, for young people residing in Fortaleza or in the metropolitan region. Students who complete the courses will be helped to enter the job market.

“This is a pilot project and the State University of Ceará is one of the seven educational institutions chosen throughout Brazil to participate in the program, having been selected for its experience in offering free courses in the IT area, in Education A Distance (EAD) and in the professional development of young people. More than technical training, UECE is concerned with helping students develop skills and prepare for entry and permanence in the job market,” highlights PRONATEC/FUNECE Education coordinator and teacher, Germana Paixão.
The 296 vacancies for the free courses offered by the State University of Ceará will be distributed in three distance learning courses in the IT area: Systems Programmer (136 vacancies), Web Programmer (136 vacancies) and Mobile Devices Programmer (24 vacancies). Each course will last approximately 200 hours. Classes are expected to start on May 10th.
How will the registrations to compete for the free courses made available by the State University of Ceará take place
Those interested in the courses should participate in the virtual selection through the EduLivre platform, where they will fill out an educational trail and have the opportunity to learn about the context of the job market in which they intend to enter. In addition to presenting candidates with some exercises on the content presented in the trail, which will remain open until April 11, it will also feature information on courses and jobs related to them.
Selected participants will receive an email confirming registration, sent directly by the State University of Ceará, starting April 12th. To enroll, you must be up to 29 years old, complete high school and reside in Fortaleza or in the metropolitan region.
