If You Had Amounts Deducted From Your Overdraft Or Credit/Debit Card Fees, You May Be Among The Beneficiaries!
The Bank of Brazil will have to reimburse about R$ 20.6 million to nearly 1.6 million customers who were improperly charged in banking operations. The agreement was made with the Central Bank and can guarantee the return of your money, according to the UOL Economy website.
What Happened For The Reimbursement To Happen?
The amounts were improperly deducted in operations involving overdraft, credit and debit cards. See the details:
R$ 14.1 million will be returned to 1,577,590 customers who paid incorrect fees for the issuance of second copies of cards with credit or debit function.

R$ 6.5 million will be returned to 15,453 individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs) who received usury interest (above 8%) in overdraft operations.
️ Affected Period: January 6, 2020, to October 3, 2022.
How Will The Reimbursement From The Bank Of Brazil Be?
✅ Customers With Updated Data: The amount will be credited on the card bill or deposited directly into the account (for MEIs).
✅ Customers With Outdated Data: The Bank of Brazil will contact to ensure reimbursement.
REIMBURSEMENT DEADLINE: Up To 12 Months!
⚠️ If they cannot reimburse the customers within the deadline, BB will have to pay the remaining balance to the Central Bank and also incur a fine of R$ 3.75 million!
⚠️ In case of non-compliance with the rules, the daily fine will be R$ 3,000!
