The Early Termination of Caio Mário Paes’ Mandate Was Communicated by Petrobras on the Morning of This Day 04
The Brazilian giant Petrobras announced on the morning of this Wednesday that its Board of Directors approved the early termination of Mr. Caio Mário Paes de Andrade’s mandate as President of Petrobras, effective today. The company also reported that Paes also resigned from his position as a member of the Board q of the company.

With the position vacant, the chairman of the board appointed the executive director of production development, João Henrique Rittershaussen, as interim president of Petrobras until another election for the new president can be held.
Rittershaussen holds a degree in electrical engineering from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais), and in petroleum engineering from Petrobras, with an MBA in Business Management from Coppead (UFRJ) and an Advanced Management Program from Insead (Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires) in France. The interim president of Petrobras has been with the company for 35 years.

New President of Petrobras Already Has Indication from the Lula Government
The Lula government has already officially announced the appointment of Jean Paul Prates to lead the company, which is currently being analyzed by the Civil House and will then be forwarded to Petrobras.
