The New Marcopolo Factory Will Use Graphene to Replace the Use of Steel in the Production of Its Buses
The news was announced by Marcopolo on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, and we will have a new manufacturing unit from the company! According to a statement from the bus and light rail vehicle (LRV) manufacturer to Diário do Transporte, the investment for the new factory will be R$ 20 million and it will manufacture products with graphene to replace steel parts, according to the Diário do Transporte website.
The choice of the city of Farroupilha for the establishment of the new Marcopolo factory that will use graphene was made because the city is the second-largest metal-mechanical hub in Brazil, and it is also close to other highways in the region.
The new factory will be responsible for manufacturing polymer parts with cutting-edge technology, in addition to developing products with graphene to replace steel parts. Nothing less than expected with the investment made!
