Job Opportunities Ahead! Brasfels Shipyard in Angra dos Reis Hosts Technical Visit from Etesco for Inspection of Urca and Frade Rigs

Etesco, operator of the Urca and Frade rigs, sent Golar technicians to the Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis to conduct inspections on the semisubmersibles. Brasfels announced more than 36 positions for resume registration in its database, click here to apply!

The job openings mentioned above will be for the resumption of work on the semisubmersibles DRU1 (Urca) and DRU2 (Frade), which can happen at any moment.

After the agreement announced in September between Sete Brasil and Keppel, there are minor outstanding issues before the Brasfels shipyard can sign the contract to resume work, which has been halted for about four years.

The platforms were part of Sete Brasil’s judicial recovery process, and the creditors involved included the Keppel shipyards (Brasfels) and Jurong.

Etesco was the operator chosen by Magni Partners, with the bid considered being US$ 250 million, with US$ 62.5 million for each rig, well below the minimum threshold established, which was S$ 554 million.

The Brasfels bid was US$ 50 million, with US$ 35 million for Urca and US$ 15 million for Frade.

Founded in 1956, Etesco is a genuinely Brazilian company, considered one of the most traditional construction firms for public works in the country. In the 1970s, it became one of the largest construction companies in Brazil, primarily operating in the fields of water, sewage, highways, urban drainage systems, gas pipelines, oil well drilling services, and port dredging.

In the early 1990s, the company prioritized its participation in the privatization of public assets and concessions.
