On Monday (6), the multinational Volkswagen presented its new electric car, a square futuristic Gol titled ID.Life
With the growing demand for electric cars in Brazil, it is no surprise that the multinational Volkswagen is launching one of the most popular electric models in the automotive market. The new electric car is the square futuristic Gol, which has been one of the major highlights of the event following the Frankfurt Motor Show, also known as IAA Mobility. The multinational Volkswagen plans to launch the new version of the Gol ID.Life in 2025, with a price margin of €20,000, about R$125,000 in direct conversion.

During the opening of the Munich Show, the CEO of Volkswagen, Ralf Brandstaetter, spoke about the new compact electric car, the square Gol ID.Life, stating that the new electric car represents the brand’s vision that will kickstart the next generation of urban mobility in a fully electric way. “This means we are making electric mobility accessible to more people,” Ralf emphasized.
The Gol ID.Life stands out from other electric vehicles in Volkswagen’s lineup, such as the ID.3, for not being as futuristic and following a more retro style, similar to others recently presented, like the Renault 5, the new Fiat 500e, and the Honda E, all inspired by old urban and compact models.

Gol ID.Life, Designed to Be Sustainable and Focused on Young Audiences
One of Volkswagen’s main focuses in creating the Gol ID.Life was sustainability, developed with recycled materials and economically conscious elements. The removable roof and hood were made from plastic derived from PET bottles, and the upholstery covers were made from old shirts, along with other natural source materials used in the paint, such as rice husks, rubber from rubber trees, and wood chips.
They also significantly reduced production materials for the utility vehicle, for example, by not including a multimedia center, which is common in other modern launches. It features very few buttons or controls in the cabin, as driver interaction with the vehicle is done through the steering wheel, which includes a small digital touch screen, allowing a mobile phone or tablet to be attached to the dashboard via a magnet.

And for gaming enthusiasts, the vehicle includes a console, a projector, and a retractable 34-inch screen, providing more interaction for the driver.
“The car of the future involves a lifestyle and personal expression. Tomorrow’s customer will not just want to go from A to B: they will be much more interested in the experiences that a car can offer,” said Brandstaetter.
