The Volvo Group announced in a press release:
On December 17th, the first delivery of a Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) electric truck and the first all-electric Volvo FE truck took place in France, thus accelerating the long-term transformation towards more sustainable transport solutions and construction infrastructure.
French contractor Eiffage has taken delivery of a Volvo FE Electric all-electric truck and a Volvo compact excavator ECR25 Electric which are now being put to work on the Grand Paris Express transport project in the French capital.
Melker Jernberg, president of Volvo CE, commented on the first delivery:
Today's deliveries of this electric truck and construction machine are the beginning of a revolution in transportation and infrastructure solutions. Make no mistake, electric machines will not remain a niche market. Over the next few years and decades, they will become the dominant source of energy with low or no emissions. When combined with clean energy, its potential to support climate change goals, improve air quality and help build the world we all want to live in cannot be underestimated. I am delighted that we are starting this journey with friends like Eiffage.
