Starting with 2025, Brazil will implement stricter emissions rules, forcing manufacturers to innovate. Both the VW Nivus 2025 and the Fiat Fastback Hybrid sought solutions to adapt to the legislation, but with opposite approaches, according to the Quatro Rodas website.
O Volkswagen nivus bet on a restyling of design and mechanical settings in the engine already existing, while the Fiat Hatchback designed a mild hybrid system (MHEV), becoming one of the brand's first models to use this technology in the country.

Fiat Fastback Hybrid
Equipped with the 1.0 T200 Hybrid engine, the SUV has 130 hp of power and 20,4 kgfm of torque, complemented by an electric motor that adds 4 hp and 1 kgfm. VW Nivus 2025
With the 1.0 TSI engine (128 hp and 20,4 kgfm), the Nivus priority efficiency. Although slower in acceleration, reaching 100 km/h in 11,2 seconds, surprises in fuel economy:

However, the Fastback keeps the look unchanged, while the nivus features a redesigned bumper to improve aerodynamics and new features such as more functional air intakes.
