The New Factory Inaugurated on Friday, 21, Was Equipped with State-of-the-Art Instruments for the Manufacturing of Solar Panels and Will Generate More Than 1,500 Direct and Indirect Jobs
On last Friday, 21, the inauguration of the largest solar panel factory in Brazil, by the Sengi Solar industry, took place. The ceremony was attended by Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Júnior at the site where the new unit is located, in Cascavel, in the West of Paraná. The venture received investments of R$ 220 million and will generate over 1,500 direct and indirect job opportunities.
The new solar panel factory was built with state-of-the-art automated equipment and has a production capacity of 3,600 modules per day, which represents 500 MWp (megawatts-peak) per year.
Operating in three shifts, the factory has the potential to develop a photovoltaic panel every 23 seconds. With this volume, the photovoltaic panels manufactured at the industry could generate 63 GigaWatts-hour per year.

How Does Solar Energy Work?
Point for Paraná!
Ratinho Junior states that, in addition to the cutting-edge technology incorporated into the solar panel factory, it also serves as a showcase for Paraná, which is one of the main producers of clean energy in Brazil.
“It is a source of pride for our State to have an industry like this, which not only generates many jobs, but also helps with sustainability. Paraná was elected the most sustainable State in Brazil, and projects like this help consolidate that position,” he said.
The governor also emphasizes the immense support from the State Government for the generation of sustainable energy, with projects primarily aimed at rural properties, such as the Renova Paraná program.
Available Technology
With national product engineering and investment in research and innovation, Sengi Solar has produced a line of high-efficiency and durability products. The photovoltaic solar panels are developed with materials sourced from suppliers from different parts of the world.
The installation of the factory in Cascavel is also expected to boost the reindustrialization of Brazil with a focus on future products, says Daniel da Rocha, president of the Tangipar Group companies.
The Tangipar Group, which controls the new unit, believes that the increase in demand for industrial inputs for the manufacturing of solar modules facilitates new factories linked to the supply chain of silicon, glass, polymers, and metallurgy.
