With an investment of R$ 2.5 million, the new Polypropylene Big Bag Factory in Riachão do Jacuípe promises to generate 300 direct jobs and serve the Northeast and North with a production of 3.24 million units per year.
A investment of R$ 2.5 million, made by TECBAG Brazil with support from the state government and the Department of Economic Development (SDE), inaugurated a new Polypropylene Big Bag Factory in Riachão do Jacuípe (BA) yesterday (September 6, 2025).
The production, estimated at 3.24 million units per year, is expected to generate 300 direct jobs and reinforce the supply in the Northeast and North regions.
Context of the Investment and the Factory
The factory was installed in a warehouse provided by the government after signing a protocol with the SDE.

Near Amsterdam, residents buy land and discover they must also build streets, manage drainage, handle waste, and grow food on half their plot.
The implementation was quick — negotiations that started about six months ago resulted in a functional structure by early September.
Therefore, the strategic investment mobilized essential resources and partnerships.
Immediate Social and Economic Impacts
In addition to the physical installation, the central expectation revolves around the generation of 300 new direct jobs, which will strengthen the local and regional economy.
Thus, Riachão do Jacuípe gains industrial dynamism and more income opportunities.
Production and Technology of the Polypropylene Big Bag Factory
The new factory will produce polypropylene big bags (raffia) with high technology, reaching 3.24 million units per year.
The goal is to serve customers primarily in the Northeast and North. This highlights a planning focused on regional reach.
The project is divided into four stages. Subsequently, the installation of a trimming recovery unit — plastic raffia waste — is planned to allow for the reuse of discarded materials in the production process.
Additionally, the initial investment paves the way for greater sustainability and a circular economy.
Market Relevance for the Polypropylene Big Bag Factory
According to the Brazilian Association of Polyolefin Fiber Producers (AFIPOL), 73.4% of raffia packaging (including bags of 25 and 50 kg and big bags) is consumed by sectors such as flour, fertilizer, sugar, seeds, and feed.
The mining and cement segment, traditionally dominated by paper, is starting to shift to raffia; currently, 20.1% of production is already big bags.
Therefore, this new manufacturing hub arrives at a time of market expansion and transformation.
The opening of the new Polypropylene Big Bag Factory in Riachão do Jacuípe, enabled by an investment of R$ 2.5 million, represents an important economic and social advancement for Bahia.
With significant production capacity and a commitment to sustainable practices, the initiative already finds demand in strategic sectors.
Moreover, job creation and the use of technology enhance the development potential of the interior of Bahia.
