The arrival of a new unit of Rede Assaí Atacadista in the city of Juiz de Fora will generate 500 job openings, both direct and indirect, as well as an additional 300 job openings in construction. The new wholesale store will be placed on the land where the Tupynambás club used to operate, with the opening date expected for next year, according to the G1 website.
The announcement of the job openings for the new unit in the city of Minas Gerais was made on the morning of Tuesday, the 20th, by Mayor Margarida Salomão, from the Workers’ Party, during a press conference that also featured representatives from Assaí, the company that will launch the new unit in the city. Mayor Margarida also highlighted the positive impact of the new venture in the city.
She stated that the generation of 500 new job openings in the city of Minas Gerais will definitely contribute to the quality of work in the city. “The municipality of Juiz de Fora opens its arms for you to have a victorious performance,” declared the mayor of the city of Minas Gerais.

In addition to the mayor, the announcement of the jobs at the new unit in Minas Gerais was attended by the Secretary of Sustainable and Inclusive Development, Innovation and Competitiveness, Ignacio Delgado, the Secretary of Sustainability in the Environment and Urban Activities, Aline Junqueira, the regional director of Rede Assaí in Minas Gerais, Murilo Coelho, as well as representatives from Pedra Dourada Investimentos e Consultoria Ltda, the company responsible for bringing the wholesale network to the city of Minas Gerais.
Company Negotiations
The negotiations for the new unit to be installed in the city of Minas Gerais were conducted at the Integrated Chamber for Analysis and Approval of New Enterprises (Ciaane), created to expedite the analysis and approvals of projects for other ventures in the municipality of Minas Gerais.
“This is the first project permit approved by Ciaane, where the licensing involved a collective effort from various departments, especially regarding urban mobility,” said the Secretary of Sesmaur, Aline Junqueira.
Ciaane was established by Municipal Decree 14,479 in April 2021 and is composed of the Urban Planning Department (Sepur), the Sustainable and Inclusive Development Department, the Innovation and Competitiveness Department (Sedic), the Finance Department (SF), and the Public Works Department (SO), in addition to the Municipal Attorney General’s Office (PGM), and is coordinated by the Department of Sustainability in the Environment and Urban Activities (Sesmaur).
Sale of the Plot Where the New Wholesale Unit Will Be Located
Baeta closed the sale of 80% of the area of the club’s headquarters and acquired a plot of land 34 times larger than the one existing in the Poço Rico neighborhood to establish a Training Center. The values of the two transactions were not disclosed due to confidentiality terms established in the contract.
Tupynambás promised 18,000 m² of the total 22,000 m² of the headquarters. The area, which corresponds to 81.81% of the club’s land, is part of the José Paiz Soares Stadium, gymnasium, party hall, among other spaces.
The buyer of the area is a construction company from Juiz de Fora, which negotiated the site to meet Rede Assaí Atacadista’s needs for building a unit in the city of Minas Gerais.
