Currently, 482 Workers from the Municipality Registered at the Job Opportunities Desk Are Working on the Construction of the Enterprise. Learn How to Get a Job Too.
Workers registered at the Job Opportunities Desk of São João da Barra currently represent 58% of the labor force hired for the works of the Açu Natural Gas Consortium (GNA) thermoelectric plant. This percentage corresponds to 482 positions, filled by residents of São João in the construction of the enterprise. The data was released this week by the Job Opportunities Desk, linked to the Superintendency of Labor and Income of the Department of Economic and Technological Development.
The space is a source for labor acquisition inquiries, with a registration of resumes both in person and online, accounting for over 7,000 registrants in a year.
According to the Superintendent of Labor and Income, Sávio Saboia, this number of hiring is the result of actions by the municipal government and ongoing dialogue with the companies located in the Açu port complex. “We are working to ensure that more and more residents of São João can occupy these positions, as well as others in the region,” he pointed out.

One of the initiatives to increase these numbers, according to the superintendent, was the creation of the Commission for Labor, Technology, and Education (Comtrate) in 2017, formed by members of the municipal Secretariats of Education and Culture and of Economic and Technological Development, through the Superintendency of Labor and Income and the Fluminense Institute of Education (IFF)
