With a Totally New Interface, the New iPhone Update, iOS 26, Brings Dozens of New Features in Customization, Camera, and Artificial Intelligence, but Some of the Coolest Features Are Still Not Available.
The new iPhone update, iOS 26, is now among us in its first beta version and brings one of the biggest visual and functional revolutions to Apple’s system in recent years. With a redesigned interface, new camera features, and the promise of more integrated artificial intelligence, the system promises to change the way users interact with their devices.
According to the first impressions from YouTuber Mateus Kist, who is already testing the system, the main novelty is the “Liquid Glass” interface, which brings a transparency effect to the entire system. Below, we list the main features already available and those that are yet to come in this highly anticipated new iPhone update.
The New “Liquid Glass” Interface: The Biggest Visual Change
The first thing that catches the eye in iOS 26 is its new look. Apple introduced a new design language called “Liquid Glass”, which applies a translucent glass effect to icons, menus, and especially the Control Center.

Furthermore, customization has been expanded. It is now possible to choose between different appearance modes:
- Standard: The classic iOS look.
- Dark: The traditional night mode.
- Translucent: The new “Liquid Glass” effect, available in light and dark versions.
- Tinted: A new mode that allows the user to choose a color to apply throughout the system.
New Features in the Camera and Lock Screen

The Camera app has been completely redesigned, with a cleaner and more organized interface. One of the most interesting new features is a system that notifies the user when the camera lens is dirty, displaying the message “Clean the Camera.”
The lock screen has also gained more customization options. It is now possible to stretch the clock and create “spatial scenes” in any photo, applying a 3D effect to the elements of the image.
Battery and Smarter Alarms
The battery menu in Settings has been revamped and now shows real-time information. The big novelty is the “adaptive power” mode, which makes hardware adjustments to increase the overall battery life of the iPhone.
Another small but useful novelty is in the alarm. Now, when creating an alarm, the user can set the snooze duration from 1 to 15 minutes.
Improvements in Messages, CarPlay, and AirPods
Messages: The messaging app has gained the ability for partial text selection and a typing indicator in group chats.
CarPlay: The CarPlay home screen now features new and customizable widgets and support for “live activities,” such as the status of an iFood delivery.
AirPods: Apple’s headphones have become smarter. They can now detect when the user falls asleep and automatically pause the music. Additionally, it is possible to select in settings which microphone to use during a call (the earbud, the car, or the iPhone itself).
The Future with Apple Intelligence: What Is Still to Come
Many of the most awaited features of this new iPhone update are part of Apple’s artificial intelligence package, Apple Intelligence. However, most of them are still not available in the first beta version.
Among the promised new features are:
- AI-Powered Emoji Creation.
- AI-Driven Image Generation.
- Automatic Notification Summaries.
- A feature that allows the iPhone to wait on a telemarketing call for you and notify when a human agent is available.
The expectation is that these and other features will be gradually released in the upcoming beta versions, leading up to the official launch of iOS 26, scheduled for September.
