The Concept of Distributed Generation and More Solar Energy in Bahia, Being Adopted in Some Residences, and Also by Some Companies.

Worldwide, there has been an adherence to solar energy sources, as they are very accessible and easy to handle and install, in addition to being environmentally friendly. With the use of solar energy, it is possible to enable distributed energy generation. This means that the energy will be produced close to or at the very location of consumption.

Distributed Solar Energy Generation in Bahia Is Growing

This distributed generation capacity in Bahia witnessed a growth of 118% in solar energy, compared to January 2020 with the year 2019, says Absolar – Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy. The solar energy production in the state increased from 63.2MW to 138.3MW during this period.

About 90% of the entire population of Bahia already has energy generated by photovoltaic panels. It is known that around 90% of the population in Bahia already makes use of solar energy through photovoltaic panels. According to ANEEL, the National Electric Energy Agency, the cities with the highest installation capacity are: Barreiras, Camaçari, Salvador, Lauro de Freitas, and Amélia Rodrigues.

The main benefit of implementing solar energy generation panels is both environmental and financial. Regarding the environment, the use of renewable and clean energy contributes to the concept of sustainability. Since its launch in 2018, Atlas Solar aims to attract negotiations in the solar energy sector throughout the state.

After two years since its launch, we can make a somewhat positive analysis, focusing on the installed capacity of photovoltaic sources in distributed solar energy generation in the Northeast region, which is only behind Ceará, the state with the highest capacity for distributed solar energy generation.
