With an investment of R$ 1.6 billion, the Campo Largo 2 Wind Farm consists of 86 wind turbines that have gone through a testing operation period, and has a total installed capacity of 361.2 MW.
When operating at full capacity, ENGIE will total 1,262.8 MW of installed capacity in wind energy in Brazil, which represents over 1,000 MW just in the state of Bahia, in addition to consolidating the company’s capacity in renewable energies and expanding the company’s portfolio, given that Campo Largo 2 increases the energy supply in the Free Contracting Environment.

Fortescue announces a radical shift by replacing diesel with a system featuring 1.2 GW of solar energy, 600 MW of wind energy, and up to 5 GWh in batteries, a giant project that could save $100 million per year and transform heavy mining into one of the largest 100% renewable operations in the world by 2028.
“Campo Largo 2 represents our consolidation in wind generation. We have surpassed 1 GW in installed capacity, which reinforces Brazil’s vocation for clean and renewable energy and a carbon-neutral economy. Furthermore, we provide more energy to free consumers who can make a tailored load contract and achieve a significant reduction in electricity costs, optimizing their business growth,” highlights Eduardo Sattamini, CEO of ENGIE Brasil Energia.
ENGIE Projects in Brazil
On January 15, ENGIE announced the start of the implementation of the Santo Agostinho Wind Farm, located in the municipalities of Lajes and Pedro Avelino, 120 km from Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte, through the signing of the contract for the supply of wind turbines with Siemens Gamesa. Civil works are scheduled to start in June 2021, with an expected investment of R$ 2.2 billion.
Additionally, the Group operates in Brazil in the commercialization of energy in the free market and is among the largest companies in distributed photovoltaic generation. The company also has a complete portfolio of integrated solutions aimed at reducing costs and improving infrastructure for businesses and cities, such as energy efficiency, monitoring, and energy management. With 3,000 employees, ENGIE had a revenue of R$ 10.5 billion in the country in 2019.
With the acquisition of TAG, ENGIE is now also the owner of the most extensive natural gas transportation network in the country, with 4,500 km, crossing 10 states and 191 municipalities.
