Subsea 7 contracts the German company Butting to produce coated tubes for the Campo de Bacalhau project, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin

Subsea 7 contracted Butting to produce clad pipe for a project in Campo de Bacalhau and in August, the company received a first partial order to supply almost 6.500 m (21.325 ft) of metallurgically coated pipe (10 in OD).

In October, a second order was placed for approximately 73 km (45 mi) of BuBi mechanically coated pipe (10-in. OD) and 4.200 m (13.779 ft) of metallurgically coated pipe (14-in. OD). The tubes were ordered in the material combination of carbon-manganese steel and corrosion-resistant alloy.

According to Subsea 7, the use of clad materials in the manufacture of pipes combines the strength and toughness properties of carbon-manganese steels with the corrosion resistance of stainless steels. Located approximately 185 km (115 miles) off the coast of São Paulo, the Bacalhau oil field is in the pre-salt Santos basin in approximately 2.050 m (6.726 ft) of water.

Trainee | Rov pilot – 20 vacancies – Beginning in 2021

Among the planned activities are: Perform auxiliary support services for offshore ROV systems, observing safety standards on board vessels or platforms; Monitor and carry out, in simple situations, operations and maintenance on equipment, enabling their learning in relation to operational procedures.

• Intermediate level English
