Omoda & Jaecoo’s traffic police robot debuts at a school in China and expands the use of artificial intelligence in smart cities

OMODA & JAECOO, in partnership with AiMOGA, took another step in the practical application of smart technologies by introducing a traffic police robot at a school safety post in China. The initiative marks the expansion of the brand’s smart city solutions to everyday urban scenarios. On March 2, 2026, during the first day of the school year in Wuhu, the humanoid robot “Wuyou” Smart Officer R009 officially took on its duties in front of Yinhu Primary School, assisting in traffic organization and student safety.

Traffic police robot with artificial intelligence enhances school safety in China

The start of the school year often concentrates one of the most intense traffic periods near schools, with a large simultaneous flow of pedestrians, private vehicles, and school buses. Traditionally, these environments are managed by police officers, teachers, and volunteers, but they face increasing challenges due to the complexity and volume of traffic.

Inserted in this context, the robot “Wuyou” began to act directly in controlling the flow. During peak hours, it positioned itself in the center of the crosswalk, executing standardized traffic guidance gestures, signaling for vehicles to slow down and ensuring the safe crossing of students.

Additionally, the robot emits voice commands with educational messages, such as traffic light instructions, contributing to children’s awareness in a practical and interactive way.

Humanoid robot technology with autonomous navigation and recognition of pedestrians and vehicles

The robot’s operation is supported by an advanced set of technologies developed by AiMOGA, including:

• autonomous navigation and high-precision positioning
• multimodal environmental perception
• intelligent algorithms for recognizing pedestrians and vehicles

Integrated with traffic control systems, the robot is capable of interpreting the environment in real-time, identifying traffic patterns, and issuing safety alerts autonomously.

Additionally, its connection to knowledge bases and advanced interaction models allows it to answer questions and guide users, transforming traffic education into a practical and accessible experience in the urban environment itself.

Smart cities and urban mobility advance with traffic police robot

The initiative reinforces OMODA & JAECOO’s commitment to applying technology in real scenarios, expanding its operations beyond the automotive sector. By integrating artificial intelligence, robotics, and mobility, the brand contributes to building safer, more efficient solutions connected to the demands of modern cities.

The introduction of the traffic police robot in school environments represents a significant advancement in the digital transformation of urban management, demonstrating how technology can directly act in the protection, education, and organization of public space.
