Have You Ever Wondered About The Need To Restart Your Phone, Whether It Is iPhone Or Android, From Time To Time? Probably Not, Since This Is Not A Common Practice.

However, a report released by the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States is clear in its recommendation: turn off the device and turn it back on once a week.

According to the NSA, not periodically restarting the device can be a huge mistake. And this is what almost always happens, as most people only turn off their phones when there is a security or operating system update that requires it.

Why Restart The Phone?

According to the NSA document, it is crucial to turn off mobile devices once a week to protect against zero-click exploits that hackers often use to spy on and collect data from phones.

According to the agency, users can mitigate the threat of spear-phishing, which can lead to the installation of even more malware and spyware, with this simple action.

The document emphasizes that by turning off the phone once a week, it prevents these attacks from succeeding.

“Threats to mobile devices are more prevalent and increasing in scope and complexity,” said the NSA, adding that some features of smartphones “provide convenience and capability but sacrifice security”.

In this sense, the National Security Agency emphasizes that it is always best to take measures to prevent these attacks.

Turn Off Bluetooth

Another important recommendation from the NSA concerns Bluetooth on both iPhones and Android phones. According to the agency, the correct approach is to deactivate Bluetooth when it is not being used.

Additionally, the National Security Agency states that it is essential to update the device as soon as operating system and application updates become available. And, if that is not enough, disable location services when they are not necessary.
