With the approval of the registrations of the new companies, the Permanent Offer now has a total of 57 registered companies. These approvals were published last Friday in the Federal Official Gazette.
Differently from what happened with the bidding rounds (suspended due to the pandemic), the Permanent Offer is ongoing. The reason, according to the ANP, is that the process consists of a continuous offer of returned fields (or in the process of being returned), and exploratory blocks offered in previous bids that were not awarded or returned to the agency.

Petrobras Clarifies About “Hibernated” Onshore Fields
Petrobras clarifies that there has been no decision to hibernate onshore fields. Thus, the information that Petrobras’s board “reversed and suspended” the hibernation of such fields is false. There is no way to go back on a decision that was not originally made, Petrobras stated in a note.
The state-owned company informed that the hibernation decision, announced to the market on 26/3, covers only 62 platforms of fields in shallow waters, in the Campos, Sergipe, Potiguar, and Ceará basins.
Currently, the state company operates 168 onshore fields, where in the first quarter of this year, production totaled 114 thousand barrels of oil per day, of which 14 fields had production temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of workers due to the pandemic and also due to low oil prices.
