In The Aneel Transmission Auction, 11 Lots Were Sold. R$ 7.3 Billion Is Expected in Investments for The Next Five Years
The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) held an energy transmission auction last Thursday, with 11 projects in 9 states across the country. In the next 5 years, the investment is expected to reach R$ 7.3 billion and create 15,000 new jobs.

Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, and São Paulo were the states that will receive over 1,958 kilometers of transmission network.
The auction was held at the B3 headquarters in São Paulo and attracted the largest companies in the field. All lots were acquired, some of which were heavily contested and had discounts of over 70% compared to the maximum remuneration set by the government.

In addition to groups from China, Colombia, Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal, 51 companies participated, of which 38 were national.
One of the most prominent consortia is Saint Nicolas I and II, formed by Mez Energia e Participações and Mez Energia Fund for Infrastructure Investments. The group purchased 5 lots.
Neoenergia also performed well, securing the second batch of projects, which has the largest investment and encompasses over a thousand kilometers of transmission lines. The projects in the states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, and Minas Gerais are necessary for the expansion of the basic grid in the southern Northeast.
