Anvisa ordered this Thursday (7) the immediate recall of 24 Ypê products after an independent laboratory identified the presence of the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa in specific batches. The precautionary measure prohibits the sale and use of the affected items, which include dishwashing detergents, Tixan liquid soaps, and disinfectants from the Bak, Atol, and Pinho Ypê brands. Consumers should check if the batch number printed on the packaging ends in 1, an identification that distinguishes irregular products from others.
Anvisa ordered the immediate recall of 24 Ypê products, and the list ranges from dishwashing detergent to Tixan liquid soap, including household disinfectants. The decision was published after an independent laboratory found the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa in specific batches, a microorganism normally present in air and water but which can cause or worsen infections in people with weakened immune systems. Ypê, which belongs to Química Amparo, confirmed the recall and offered free replacement via SAC.
The point every consumer needs to check now is the batch number printed on the packaging. Anvisa determined that the action specifically affects batches whose numbering ends in 1. If the product at home has a batch with a different ending, it is not included in the precautionary measure. If it ends in 1, the instruction is to stop using it immediately, keep the packaging, and call Ypê’s SAC (0800 1300 544) to receive a new product.
The complete list of 24 Ypê products recalled by Anvisa

Anvisa divided the 24 suspended Ypê products into three categories. In the detergents and dishwashing line, eight items are affected: Ypê Clear Care Dishwashing Detergent, Ypê Active Enzymes Dishwashing Detergent, Ypê Dishwashing Detergent (traditional version), Ypê Soft Touch Dishwashing Detergent, Ypê Green Concentrated Dishwashing Detergent, Ypê Clear Dishwashing Detergent, and Ypê Green Dishwashing Detergent.

What is Pseudomonas aeruginosa and what is the real risk
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common bacterium in the environment, present in air, water, and soil. In healthy individuals, contact with the microorganism rarely causes problems, because the normal immune system is capable of combating it without difficulty. The risk becomes real for people with compromised immunity: cancer patients, transplant recipients, debilitated elderly, HIV carriers, and people hospitalized.
Ypê itself acknowledged in the official statement that “in isolation, this microorganism can cause or worsen an eventual infectious condition in people with a compromised immune system“. The company added that the risk is minimized by the normal conditions of use of a laundry detergent — dilution in water and absence of prolonged skin contact — but still decided on a voluntary recall. For dish detergents and disinfectants, hand contact is more direct, which increases concern.
How to identify if your product is on the list
Verification is simple and can be done in less than a minute. The consumer must locate the lot number printed on the product packaging and check if the last digit is 1. If it is, the product is potentially included in Anvisa‘s precautionary measure and should not be used. If the lot ends in any other number, the product was not affected.
Ypê disclosed the specific lots of Tixan products that tested positive for the bacteria: Tixan Primavera (lots 254031, 193021), Tixan Maciez (lot 97021), Tixan Express Combate Mau Odor (lots 176011, 228011, 205011, 203011, 169011), Tixan Express Cuida das Roupas (lots 181011, 170011, 220011) and Ypê Power Act (lots 228031, 190021, 223021). Consumers who have any of these lots should call SAC 0800 1300 544 and request a free replacement.
What Ypê said and what Anvisa determined
Ypê published a statement acknowledging the contamination and describing the process that led to the discovery. The company stated that “an independent specialized laboratory, after several tests, managed to identify the bacteria”, and presented the recall as a voluntary decision motivated by a commitment to quality. The tone of the statement seeks to minimize the impact by highlighting that Pseudomonas aeruginosa has “minimal probability of impact on the safety of products and consumers”.
Anvisa, in turn, was more direct. The agency published a precautionary measure prohibiting the sale and use of the affected lots and ordered an immediate recall, an action that has regulatory force and obliges distributors and retailers to remove the products from shelves. The difference in tone between the company‘s statement and Anvisa‘s determination reflects the distinction between corporate posture (which seeks to preserve the brand) and regulatory action (which prioritizes consumer safety).
What to do if you have already used one of the contaminated products
For most people, the use of a product contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa under normal laundry or dishwashing conditions should not cause health problems. The risk is significant only for people with compromised immunity, and even in this case depends on the type of contact and the duration of exposure. Dilution in water and rinsing reduce the concentration of the microorganism to levels that normally do not cause infection.
Still, Anvisa‘s recommendation is clear: if the consumer has any of the 24 products with a lot number ending in 1 at home, they should stop using it immediately. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as skin irritation, persistent redness, or signs of infection after using the suspended Ypê products should seek medical attention and inform them about contact with the contaminated product. Ypê‘s SAC (0800 1300 544) is receiving calls for the exchange of affected items.
