Surrounded by colleagues, directors, and frozen shelves, he received a personalized mural, a certificate of appreciation, and the 40 snacks that became the catalyst for public recognition. “I have no words to express my gratitude. It’s been 40 long years, but I enjoyed every minute,” he said, visibly moved.
A Model Employee Who Became a Symbol of Community
The president of the Alliance chain, Chris Fish, emphasized that Parsons goes far beyond the functions he performs. “He has always been exemplary. He is always willing to help, not just here but also in the community. He participates in charitable actions and raises funds for local institutions. This is invaluable,” he stated in an interview with the BBC.
The chain’s commercial director, Laura Golden, added that the impact of the tribute on social media only confirmed how beloved Kevin is at work. “The comments on Facebook showed the affection people have for him. He represents the spirit of a local and independent company like ours,” she said.
In addition to the famous sausage rolls, the team gifted Parsons a tropical mural to decorate his home, symbolizing warmth and recognition after decades facing negative temperatures in the frozen goods sector.
Cases like Kevin’s contrast with the current dynamics of the labor market. According to the French company Lefebvre, just in the first half of 2023, more than 1.38 million people voluntarily resigned in Spain, which equates to about 7,600 resignations per day.
