Itatiaia, in partnership with the Municipal City Hall of ES, has submitted the project for the expansion of the stove factory in Sooretama/ES. The mayor Alessandro Broedel, from the Republicans, announced the good news through his social media on August 23. Broedel and the city’s Secretary of Taxes and Revenue, Francisco de Assis Bittencourt, received the expansion project from the hands of Itatiaia’s tax specialist, Brendo Simão.

It is estimated that about 500 new job openings will be directly available in the municipality. 300 of these jobs will be filled for internal and external operations at the factory. The other 200 job openings are temporary.
According to Francisco Bittencourt, Itatiaia will have the tax incentives from the City Hall of Sooretama for a period of at least 10 years, in addition to investments from affiliated entrepreneurs. These tax incentives, which are provided for in Complementary Law 12/2019, are usually allocated to enterprises that install or expand their industrial activities in the municipality, as is the case with Itatiaia.
Employability And Positions Offered By The Factory
During the expansion process, Itatiaia will only hire labor from the construction sector, that is, masons, construction assistants, carpenters, and electricians. The contractors will take care of this part.
In addition to engineers and architects, a marketing and planning team will also be involved to start generating expectations among people for what is coming. After the completion of the works, the factory will redefine and/or create new positions, generating even more job opportunities for the state of ES.
Itatiaia is one of the largest kitchen furniture and stove brands in Latin America. Currently, the Sooretama unit, inaugurated in 2013, has around 800 employees from the municipality and nearby regions.
Forecast For Beginning And Completion Of Works
Due to the bureaucratic part of the release of tax incentives and also regarding the various steps that need to be followed rigorously in the construction of this large enterprise, the factory operation is likely to begin between July and August 2023.
Brendo Simão explains that many hires will be made during this period and states that the need to expand the factory is also aimed at boosting sales in ES, especially in the northern region of the state.
Another point being considered is related to the exports of its products. Simão believes that, with the factory expansion, there will also be growth in purchases from abroad, which had an increase of 10% between 2019 and 2021.
