Implementation of a Fleet Management App Boosts Performance of 35 Vehicles, Resulting in Time and Resource Savings.
Cobesa, a Coca-Cola distributor based in Maranhão, increased the productivity of its fleet of 35 vehicles using a fleet management app. Through real-time monitoring of vehicle performance, including stops, accelerations, and behaviors in curves, the company was able to reduce idle time by 25%, in addition to gaining other significant benefits.
Control and Correction of Driving with Innovative Technology
Through telemetry, the app provided by Infleet allows monitoring of engine idle time, a valuable feature in cost reduction. Since implementing the Infleet solution in October 2021, Cobesa has seen a noticeable improvement in fleet efficiency within the first six months. After a year and a half, Nilo Gonçalves, fleet manager at Cobesa, was able to highlight the increase in the performance of the company’s 35 vehicles, including trucks and motorcycles.
“We corrected driving behaviors, often unconscious, that led to excessive fuel consumption. This result brought significant savings, considering the constant rise in fuel prices”, explains Gonçalves. “Infleet’s integrated solution for fleet management has proven to be effective and provided tangible results”, he adds.

Transforming Habits with Actionable Data and Technology
The company had stipulated that engine idle time should not exceed 3% per month for motorcycles and 10% for trucks. The 25% reduction exceeded these targets. “Having a cutting-edge tool as an ally, which helps to mitigate problems and provides actionable data to improve overall fleet performance, is invaluable”, states the distributor.
Cobesa is a representative example of many companies that, until 2021, still conducted manual monitoring of performance and conditions of their fleet. The addition of telemetry features, through Infleet’s fleet management platform, allowed Cobesa to set and track performance goals.
Victor Cavalcanti, co-founder and CEO of Infleet, highlights Gonçalves’ strategic approach. “Nilo set an ambitious goal: to reduce fuel costs. From events like sudden acceleration, sudden braking, sharp curves, and engine idle time, he analyzed the data to find answers”, he reports.
“With years of experience, Nilo identified through the platform that engine idle time was too high. After a detailed investigation, he discovered that a vehicle was not shutting down properly, which affected engine idle time and consequently increased fuel consumption.”
With this analysis in hand, concrete measures were taken. “For example, a rule was established with the drivers to turn off the vehicles during deliveries. The app now sends alerts if a vehicle is stopped and running beyond a time determined by the operation”, concludes Cavalcanti.
