The Bank of the Northeast Is Considering a New Public Contest “In Mind”. Announcement Will Be Made Soon and BNB Contest Promises to Offer Up to 500 Positions for Candidates with High School and Higher Education.

After the recent public contest, the Bank of the Northeast of Brazil (BNB) is now announcing the publication of a new announcement expected by the end of January 2024. The institution has already hired the organizing body responsible for this next contest, signaling progress in the preparations for the selection of new professionals with high school and higher education.

List of Positions Offered in the Upcoming BNB Contest

The company chosen for the public contest of the Bank of the Northeast was the Cesgranrio Foundation. The definition of the company was made through a contract excerpt published in the Official Gazette of the Union. Thus, the publication of the announcement is increasingly imminent.

According to the contract between the BNB and the Cesgranrio Foundation, the organizing body responsible for the next contest, the opportunities would be only for the Bank Analyst position, which has a weekly workload of 30 hours. However, 500 positions will be offered for the positions of Bank Analyst at the Bank of the Northeast (410) and Technical Specialist in IT (90), for high school and higher education levels.

Bank President Comments on Public Contest

According to the BNB president, Paulo Câmara, during an interview, he stated that a new public contest for the Bank of the Northeast may be held in 2024, offering 500 positions. In a prior interview, Câmara had informed about a request for an announcement focused on increasing the number of employees at the institution.

According to the president, since the Union is the majority controller of the Bank of the Northeast, it goes through them. Thus, the presidency has to negotiate in the Federal District to open the BNB contest. However, it is necessary to proceed, since it has been a while without opening a contest.

At that time, an internal survey was ongoing with the aim of obtaining the necessary positions and vacancies.

Despite this, Paulo Câmara highlighted the possibility of the new BNB contest offering opportunities in the fields of information technology and public service. Paulo states he wants to conduct this contest this year because it takes time, but everything will depend on authorization. However, the company has been in talks with the federal government and noted that the mindset is different.

The last BNB contest was held in 2022, with 206 positions for Technical Specialists with salaries of up to R$ 6,269.76. Candidates from the last contest were evaluated through a single phase, composed of an Objective Test, of an eliminatory and classificatory nature.

Skills and knowledge exams with a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes were held in the afternoon. The test consisted of 120 questions, with each item’s judgment being of the type True or False.

In addition to the salary, approved candidates receive legal, corporate, and other benefits established in collective agreements. Among them are:

Meal allowance;
Rights provided for in the CLT;
Daycare allowance;
13th food basket;
Group life insurance;
Food basket allowance.
