Participatory Methodology of Banco do Nordeste
The construction of the annual FNE program is guided by a participatory methodology, developed under the coordination of Banco do Nordeste and in dialogue with the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR), Sudene, representatives of state and municipal governments, and representatives of the productive sector, focusing on job and income generation.
Meetings to prepare the FNE 2022 Program have been underway since June, with in-person and online meetings to incorporate contributions from various stakeholders from all states that are part of Sudene’s area of operation.
The distribution of projected values by state, economic sectors, and sizes of enterprises has already been reviewed by partners, and the drafted text will give rise to the Regional Application Plan, to be submitted to the MDR and Sudene by October 30.
FNE resources constitute a source of financing for productive activities conducted in Sudene’s area of operation, through long-term investments, working capital, and operating costs. Students covered by the Student Financing Program (P-Fies) and individuals investing in mini and micro solar energy generation are also beneficiaries.
By legal guidance, the Fund’s resources primarily benefit small-sized enterprises located in areas considered priorities for the National Regional Development Policy (PNDR), such as the Northeast semi-arid region, in addition to following the application guidelines set forth in the Regional Development Plan for the Northeast (PRDNE).
