Installation of LNG Terminal, Located in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Will Cost Approximately US$ 10.2 Million, About R$ 52.2 Million. The Investment Will Be Made by the Company Blueshift Gas & Energy.
A source familiar with the matter informed BNamericas that the Brazilian company, Blueshift Gas & Energy will start the installation of a terminal for storage and transfer of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The installation is expected to take place in Sepetiba Bay, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The terminal has been named Tagoahy, will be offshore, with an area of 76,500 m². The Tagoahy will be anchored with the FSU ship, which has a storage capacity of approximately 125,000 m³. With an investment demand of around US$ 10.2 million, the terminal will be installed near Martins Island, the access channel to the port of Itaguaí.
The Large Extension of the LNG Terminal in Rio de Janeiro Brings Various Possibilities for Blueshift Gas & Energy.
Aiming to be used for receiving, storing, and transferring LNG. The Tagoahy will be part of the distribution system of the state of Rio de Janeiro, as well as several other states in the southern, southeastern, and northeastern regions of the country.
The imported gas will be received and transported by a cargo ship with a capacity of 70,000 m³ to 135,000 m³, which will perform the transshipment of the gas in its liquid phase to FSU vessels.

Only then will the LNG be stored, which will be transferred to small vessels that will transport the gas to other states.
The transport of LNG can also be carried out using ISO containers, with a capacity of 45 m³, which can safely store LNG.
These containers may then be transported for discharge at the Sepetiba port, at the Port of Itaguaí, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
