Get To Know The Batteries That Store Solar Energy
Once collected and stored, solar energy can be used to power homes and BMW’s electric vehicle batteries. The Battery flex will be available on the market by the end of the year. The agreement between the two companies stipulates that BMW will supply battery components used in electric cars to Solarwatt, which intends to develop and manufacture solar energy storage products. The storage system in the batteries has a total capacity ranging from 4.8 to 240 kWh.
The companies stated that the project will seamlessly integrate with existing solar energy systems, both alternating current and direct current. The individual components will weigh about 25 kilograms, allowing for simple installation and maintenance of the accumulator.

In addition to all this, BMW and Solarwatt aim to reduce electricity consumption, provide benefits to customers on their electricity bills, and, above all, reduce carbon emissions, fulfilling their responsibility to sustainability.
Companies Respond About The New Solar Energy Battery Project
According to the Head Of Drive Systems For Industrial Customers And Remanufacturing At BMW, Eric Hamm, the company is very excited and pleased with the partnership with Solarwatt, as it promises to make a positive contribution to bringing solar energy closer to electric cars. He states that BMW places great importance on ensuring that all social and global aspects are respected in its supply chains.
On the other hand, Solarwatt’s number one, Stefan Quandt, states that the solar energy company produces sustainably and can ensure that its supply chain is managed in such a way that social and ecological aspects come into effect, increasing cost-cutting and improving family self-sufficiency.
Solarwatt also plans to invest 100 million euros by 2025 in production lines to complement the battery system with intelligent software that will be responsible for managing electrical flows throughout the home.
