Brazilian Shipbuilding: Projects Planned To Start In 2021
- 5th Tamandaré Class Frigate
- Brasfels (RJ) And EBR (RS) Eyeing Modec’s Topsides
- 13 FPSO Projects By 2024
1) The Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, Has Already Spoken With Paulo Guedes About The Construction Of The 5th Tamandaré Class Frigate With The Possibility Of A 6th Vessel, Thus The Brazilian Navy Would Replace The Six Niterói Class Frigates That Have Been Operating Since The 1970s.
2) The Giants Of Shipbuilding, Brasfels (RJ) And EBR (RS), Credited For Timely Deliveries, Are Eyeing The Construction Of Topsides Modules For Brazil’s Largest FPSO Ordered By Equinor From Modec. Brasfels Delivered 2 Modules For The FPSO Carioca At The Beginning Of This Year, And EBR Delivered Two Modules (In 1 Year) For The FPSO Guanabara, Both From Modec.

The 13 FPSOs To Be Installed By 2024 Are: P-70 (Atapu In 2020), Mero 1 And Sépia (2021), Marlim 1, Búzios 5, And Lula Oeste (2022), Parque Das Baleias, Mero 2 And Marlim 2 (2023), And Búzios 6, Mero 3, Sergipe Deep Waters And Itapu (2024).
