The Revolutionary Project by Boston Metal, Which Seeks to Recover High-Value Metals from Mining Waste, Will Invest About R$ 500 Million in the Construction of an Industry in Coronel Xavier Chaves.

This will be the company’s first production plant, born at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. The unit will use an innovative technology called molten oxide electrolysis (MOE),预计生成约 200 direct jobs and over 1,000 indirect ones. The choice of Coronel Xavier Chaves, in Campo das Vertentes, to host Boston Metal in Brazil, was motivated by a series of factors. The company’s vice president highlighted that the location had a vocation for mining and metallurgy, and also had major industries like AMG, skilled labor, and clean and abundant energy for the electrolysis process.

Therefore, it was an area that offered the least environmental impacts in construction. “To give you an idea, at this initial phase, we will not have significant impacts. We will not need to relocate anything. The impact is practically zero,” said Alexandre Quinze, vice president of the subsidiary.

Coronel Xavier Chaves was strategically positioned to provide an appropriate environment for the company’s activities, thereby allowing for the continuous growth of this organization in the coming years.

The choice made by the vice president of Boston Metal in Brazil brings potential benefits not only to the region but also to the entire Brazilian society. With this decision, it was possible to ensure sustainable and harmonious development among all sectors involved in the installation of the company, including local residents who were given new job opportunities generated by the company.
