TechnipFMC Secures Significant BP Contract for Argos Southwest Extension Project in the Mad Dog Field, Installing Piping and Extending the Lifespan of the Offshore Platform.
BP, the oil giant, selected TechnipFMC to carry out a crucial project in the Mad Dog field, the Argos Southwest Extension, under a highly significant contract.
TechnipFMC will be responsible for installing pipelines and an umbilical, connecting various wells to the Argos platform in the Gulf of Mexico, in partnership with BP.
For TechnipFMC, the partnership with British Petroleum is a milestone of great relevance in its contract portfolio, with expectations of positively impacting its finances in the coming quarters.

BP and TechnipFMC Celebrate Significant Contract
According to the contract, TechnipFMC will also manufacture and install pipeline end terminations.
Long-Term Collaboration with British Petroleum

BP Increases Its Gross Production Capacity
BP began production at its Argos offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico in April.
With a gross production capacity of up to 140,000 barrels of oil per day, Argos is the fifth platform operated by British Petroleum in the Gulf of Mexico and the first new production operation in the region since 2008.

Argos is the centerpiece of BP’s Mad Dog Phase 2 project, which extends the lifespan of the supergiant oil field discovered in 1998.
BP is the operator with a 60.5% working interest, with co-owners Woodside Energy (23.9%) and Union Oil Company of California, a subsidiary of Chevron USA Inc.
