MBDA, one of the world leaders in defense, offered Brazil the EMADS (Enhanced Modular Air Defense Solutions) anti-aircraft system, a potential solution to update and strengthen the country's air defense within the Army's strategic program.

The EMADS system stands out for its high modularity, allowing specific adaptations to the requirements of the Brazilian Army, including integration with national technologies such as Brazilian Embraer radars, specifically the Saber M200 Vigilante model. This customization capacity directly meets Brazil's defense requirements, offering a versatile and efficient solution.

Operational in all weather conditions, the EMADS system provides complete 360-degree coverage through vertical launches, capable of facing both conventional and unconventional aerial threats, ranging from low to high altitudes. The system is compatible with CAM and CAM-ER missiles, which are capable of reaching targets up to 45 km away and at an altitude of 20 km, ensuring robust defense against aerial incursions.

Furthermore, the proposal includes the Chronos Grand Mobile High Power multifunctional radar, operating in C-band and equipped with AESA technology state-of-the-art. This radar can be used in both air and maritime defense missions, increasing the versatility of the EMADS system.

While the Brazilian Army evaluates this option within its anti-aircraft defense modernization program, the choice of the EMADS system could mean a balance between cost and efficiency, providing the country with an updated air defense capability that is better able to protect its sovereignty against future threats. . The final decision on the adoption of the system is eagerly awaited, given its potential influence on Brazil's national defense strategy.

Advantages of an anti-aircraft system

The main function of an anti-aircraft system is to protect a country against enemy aircraft, cruise missiles, drones and other aerial threats. This helps ensure the security of national airspace and protects critical infrastructure and population centers from air attacks.

Modern anti-aircraft systems such as EMADS can cover a large geographic area, offering defense across a vast region. This allows a country to maintain constant surveillance and active defense against aerial threats on multiple fronts. These systems are designed to quickly detect, track and neutralize targets. Rapid response capability is crucial for dealing with rapidly evolving threats such as ballistic missiles.

Anti-aircraft systems use advanced radar and other sensor technologies to precisely identify and track targets in different weather conditions and throughout the day. This allows for accurate threat assessment and appropriate response.

Systems like EMADS are modular and can be integrated with the country's other defenses and command and control systems. This interoperability improves overall effectiveness of the armed forces by enabling smooth coordination between different units and technologies.

Investment in Defense; It's a very serious ISSUE...BECAUSE WITH THIS NEW POLICY CREATED BY ARTHUR LIRA AND HIS CENTRÃO AND PL PARTIES... THERE ARE AMENDMENTS TO POLITICIANS THAT HAVE ALREADY ARRIVED IN 57 BI... THIS IS A SHAME... WHILE THE ARMED FORCES WALK ON SAUCERS IN HAND, WHEN IT COMES TO PURCHASING WEAPONS...

Brazil urgently needs to modernize its air defense.
The issue is of interest to the current “government” such action.
And whether the AAFF commanders are effectively working towards this purpose.

Basil should be armed to the “teeth” it is not possible for a country so rich, without the minimum conditions to defend itself.
Be smart, buy modern weapons to defend ourselves, one day war will come here. Wait….

The political class won't want to spend money on this. This **** only thinks about themselves. Only with the electoral fund would it be possible to buy it and there are still the parliamentary amendments (the so-called secret budget)

Just to add, anyone who buys imported off-the-shelf weapons runs the risk that when they need them most they will run out of replacements or have interference codes released by the manufacturer, the enemy will be the supplier's ally, there is nothing like developing your own technologies to have autonomy.
