Factory in Camaçari Drives Job Market and Introduces Technological Innovations with the Production of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles

The BYD factory in Camaçari is preparing for a significant economic boost by creating 12,000 job openings by August.

This month of January, 2,000 jobs will be opened, followed by 3,000 in May and 5,000 in August, highlighting the positive impact on the job market.

Expansion and Production at the Camaçari Factory

In the first phase of the project, BYD is focusing on preparing the warehouses for car assembly in the SKD (Semi Knocked Down) system, in addition to installing a final inspection factory and speed test tracks.

The second phase, scheduled for completion by the end of the year, will include the construction of 28 new buildings and two yards for the full production of electric and hybrid vehicles.

This will be BYD’s largest factory outside of China, with an initial capacity to produce 150,000 cars per year, increasing to 300,000 in the second phase.

Innovation and Impact on the Brazilian Market

An important milestone for Bahia is the development of a flex engine for the hybrid Song Plus, which will be manufactured locally. The BYD Dolphin Mini, a 100% electric car, will be the second model to be assembled in the region.

Alexandre Baldy, senior vice president of BYD in Brazil, highlighted the excitement in producing the first plug-in hybrid flex SUV in Brazil, emphasizing the combination of advanced technology and sustainability.

Challenges and Overcoming in Project Execution

Despite the advances, BYD faced challenges when the Jinjiang Group, a Chinese subcontracted company, was accused of subjecting workers to degrading working conditions.

The Brazilian Ministry of Labor identified 163 Chinese workers in irregular situations. In response, BYD immediately ceased relations with the company, but this may cause a slight delay in the completion of the first phase, initially scheduled for after Carnival.

Through these initiatives, BYD reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainable growth, positioning the Camaçari complex as a strategic hub for automotive development in Northeast Brazil.

Antes de divulgarem notícias, façam uma revisão, principalmente sobre os fatos. O carro será produzido é o Song PRO e não o Song Plus, são carros diferentes.
Matérias como essa só causam mais desinformação.
