The Chamber’s Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Commission approved a project that creates a gun carry permit for rural property owners and workers over 21, valid for 10 years and restricted to rural property, amending the Disarmament Statute and advancing to the Senate.
Processing, Territorial Scope, and Validity of the New Rural Carry Permit
The proposal approved by the CCJ provides for the granting of a specific gun carry permit for those over 21 who are property owners or rural workers, with a validity of ten years and usage limited to the boundaries of the rural property.
The project amends the Disarmament Statute to include this new type of license, establishing that the permit does not extend to urban areas or to movements outside the property, maintaining the territorial restrictions set forth in the text.

As the matter is processed in a conclusive manner, it will move to the Federal Senate, unless an appeal is presented for analysis in the Chamber’s Plenary, requiring approval by both Houses to become law.
Changes in the Text, Legal Requirements, and Opposition Vote Presented
The approved text corresponds to the report of the rapporteur in the CCJ, Deputy Colonel Fernanda (PL-MT), for Bill 6717/16, authored by Deputy Afonso Hamm (PP-RS), which originally set a minimum age of 25 years.
To obtain the permit, the documents required by law for the registration and acquisition of the firearm will be necessary, as well as proof of good character and residence or work in a rural area, with the possibility of declaration by two witnesses.
Still in the CCJ, Deputy Patrus Ananias (PT-MG) presented an opposing vote to the project, stating that the fight against crime is the responsibility of public forces, not the population, which should be supported, as he declared to the Chamber News Agency.

Aqui é a lei do cão.
