Trident Completed The Submarine Campaign And Moreover Also Connected New Well To Platform P-08 In The Basin Of Campos
Trident Energy, with new advancements, plans to increase production at the Pampo field in the Basin of Campos. Trident Energy has completed its first submarine campaign, which included the connection of the production well MA-34 to platform P-08.
The well action began after the completion of pressure tests on the flow lines and the incorporation of the new well into the platform’s control system.
According to Trident, after a week of production increase and stabilization, the well produced approximately 4,400 barrels daily, becoming the best oil producer in all its operations.

Even before the first drilling on the Brazilian Equatorial Margin, a wave of migrants is pressuring Oiapoque, expanding precarious occupations and transforming the city of Amapá into the new epicenter of the oil rush in the Amazon.
While the well continues in brief conditions, it is expected that oil production will decrease towards the base case assumptions in the coming months, averaging approximately 2,000 barrels of oil daily.
Trident Energy Entered Brazil In 2020 After Acquiring The Pampo And Enchova Clusters From Petrobras
“More than 11 contractors and suppliers were gathered to execute the offshore project and, thanks to their hard work and professionalism, the well MA-34 now exceeds production expectations,”
said Andrew Simpson, project engineer at Trident. Trident’s planning began in late 2020 and had to overcome several adversities, including difficulties in securing an installation contractor offshore and also obtaining a suitable installation vessel, leading Trident Energy to execute the project itself. The installation vessel Normand Frontier carried out the operations.
French Company Declares Indications Of Oil And Gas In The Basin Of Campos
At the beginning of May, before the completion of Trident Energy’s campaign, news arrived in the exploration campaign of the French company TotalEnergies in the Basin of Campos.
The oil company informed the ANP, National Agency of Petroleum, that it found signs of oil and gas in block C-M-541, in well 1-TOT-2-RJS, at a water depth of 3,000 meters.
The drilling of the well, also called Marolo-1, began at the end of last year, with the operation being carried out through the drillship Valaris DS-15.
TotalEnergies is authorized to drill up to two oil exploration wells (Marolo and Ubaia) and three more adjacent wells in the block.
Block C-M-541 was concluded during the 16th Bidding Round, held by ANP in 2019. This was the asset with the highest signing bonus from that auction, valued at R$ 4.029 billion.
TotalEnergies is the operator of the area, holding a 40% participation along with Qatar Petroleum (40%) and Petronas (20%). Currently, this is the only oil exploration well for the French company in Brazil.
Petrobras Highlighted Interest In Revitalization In The Basin Of Campos
During OTC Houston 2022, Petrobras took the opportunity to announce its plans to revitalize the Basin of Campos, off the coasts of the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo.
As previously announced by the company, the main idea is to invest around US$ 16 billion in the basin region by 2026.
In total, three new platforms will be inaugurated, in addition to more than 100 wells in the region over the next five years.
The data was presented at the event by Eduardo Bordieri, executive strategy manager at Petrobras.
“In 2021, the Basin of Campos produced about 25% of Petrobras’s total production, which aims to reach, by 2026, a volume of around 900,000 barrels of oil equivalent in that basin, with the start of production from three new systems,” reported the executive.
Petrobras plans to introduce three new FPSOs in the Basin of Campos. The FPSOs Anita Gabribaldi and Anna Neri will be installed in the Marlim field and will have a combined production capacity of up to 150,000 barrels daily.
The third unit is the Maria Quitéria, in the Parque das Baleias complex, in Jubarte, in the Espírito Santo portion of the Basin of Campos, with a volume of 100,000 bpd.
Another goal of Petrobras is to add a volume of 20 billion barrels of oil equivalent to its reserves by 2030, with 5 billion coming from the assets utilized by Petrobras in the Basin of Campos.
