Canadian Youtuber Transforms Golf Cart Into Train and Explores Abandoned Railways of New Zealand

A Canadian decided to transform his golf cart into a train and travel along abandoned railways in New Zealand. The result was a unique journey, full of surprises, humor, and even a Mini Cooper to restore.

Golf carts are known for their rubber wheels and restricted use on golf courses. However, Canadian Youtuber DownieLive had a different idea. He replaced the traditional wheels of the cart with metal plates, adapting it to travel on the train tracks of New Zealand.

The Journey Along The Abandoned Railways

The journey was documented on his YouTube channel and showed that, besides being an unusual trip, the experience was full of discoveries.

The trip was filled with stunning landscapes. Along the way, DownieLive and his travel companion passed over 90 bridges and 20 tunnels, enjoying the tranquility of New Zealand’s countryside.

During the trip, the two had an encounter with a sheep that was standing on the tracks, something quite typical of the local wildlife. “It feels like a ride in an amusement park“, commented DownieLive.

The tracks they traveled were originally used for coal transport, but today they are practically abandoned, with the exception of some occasional tourist rides.

The Abandoned Mini Cooper

The tranquility of the route contrasted with the hustle of large cities, providing a unique experience in the midst of nature.

However, the trip was not just about tranquility and scenery. At one point, the duo encountered an abandoned Mini Cooper on the tracks, much of it covered by vegetation.

They even joked about the idea of restoring it and turning it into a “train”, making a connection with the modified golf cart itself.

The trip ended peacefully, with beautiful photos of the mountains of New Zealand. The golf cart proved to be an ideal vehicle for this unique adventure, offering a perfect combination of practicality and fun.
