The New Electric Truck Developed By The Giant Volvo Places The Manufacturer In A Leading Position In Relation To The Others
According to the website Olhar Digital, Volvo Trucks is leading the revolution of electric vehicles with the launch of the Volvo FM Low Entry, a truck optimized for safe and efficient driving in urban areas. With capacity to carry up to 32 tons, the vehicle is part of the company’s efforts to sell at least 50% of fully electric models by 2030.
Based on the FM model from Volvo, the Volvo FM Low Entry has a spacious lowered and forward-mounted cab, with a flat floor to facilitate entry and exit from the truck. It is equipped with four onboard batteries, totaling 360 kilowatt-hours of capacity. This configuration offers an estimated range of 200 km per charge, considering that trucks consume more energy than a regular electric car.

Charging And Power
The Volvo electric truck can recover energy using an integrated charger of up to 43 kilowatts and three-phase in Europe, or an external DC charger of up to 250 kilowatts. Its motor has a power output of 330 kilowatts, equivalent to nearly 450 horsepower, providing exceptional performance for various tasks.
The Volvo FM Low Entry is available in three seating options: driver only, for 1 or 3 passengers. With varied axle configurations such as 4X2, 6X2, 6X4, 8X2, and 8X4, and a gross weight supported of up to 32 tons, the truck meets various transportation needs. It also has an advanced camera monitoring system and is available in two cab sizes: standard (1575 mm) and extended (1945 mm).
