The Fronius Battery Charger Offers a Series of Safety, Savings, and Battery Preservation Features. Learn More!

One of the less talked-about electric vehicle markets, due to being a bit older, is the work vehicles market, whether small ones like internal logistics forklifts or large, heavy construction vehicles. However, this market is expected to grow. Companies will abandon diesel machinery for electric ones, in pursuit of the highly desired Carbon Zero goal, and this will increase interest in battery chargers.

The question that arises is: how to ensure that this transition doesn’t become another problem, with the current electricity rates continually rising? The answer lies in a smart battery charging system that doesn’t overheat the batteries and wastes energy.

Fronius works with smart chargers that have an exclusive charging process for lead-acid traction batteries as well as lithium batteries. According to the company’s website, the process involved in this charging does not cause overheating in the batteries, which will increase both the battery’s lifespan and reduce energy consumption, since overheating is an issue of electrical charge being converted into excess heat.

When we talk about energy savings, Fronius chargers can reduce total energy costs for battery charging by up to 30%. Another differentiator is the exclusive technology brought to Fronius from Brazil, where you can achieve up to 84% energy efficiency in battery charging, while the average of other chargers has an efficiency of at most 74%.

Risk Minimization and Cost Maximization

Another area where Fronius chargers manage to stand out is in safety and practicality. As the chargers prevent overheating and can adapt to various different batteries with the same charger, you reduce the risk of battery accidents due to lack of attention and processes caused by the lower gasification of the battery.

The gasification process of the battery can cause an explosion with a nearby spark, which would not only result in losses but also be very dangerous for your employees, potentially generating even more problems and expenses for the company.

By using this technology, your company gains more energy efficiency, safety, and also saves on the purchase of new batteries!

Check Out the New Launch of the Fronius Battery Charger

Fronius Perfect Charge recently launched the Selectiva 4.0 model, focusing on batteries with voltages from 96 to 120V, with a different focus from the models discussed so far.

These chargers are specially developed for heavy machinery and other types of vehicles that face adverse situations, which may include electrical grid variation, load fluctuation, and other issues that could damage the batteries.

Another advantage that this new technology brings is the possibility of charging two batteries with different voltages simultaneously with the Fronius charge interlock.

“With the expansion of the portfolio, we are able to reach another significant segment of the market, with all the advantages that Fronius technology offers. All of these features developed by Fronius can result in approximately 30% savings in electricity consumption and increased lifespan of vehicles and equipment, which impacts the company’s operating costs,” says Mariana Kroker, business manager of the Perfect Charging unit at Fronius Brazil.

These chargers have been meeting a growing need for battery chargers in outdoor environments, as along with their “smaller siblings,” large construction machinery and similar equipment have been undergoing an interesting decarbonization process.
