According to the Manufacturer, This Remarkable Flying Electric Car Can Travel 320 Km Driving or Fly for 170 Km.
Since 2015, Alef Aeronautics has been building a dream that seemed impossible. The ambitious goal was to develop a flying electric car with vertical takeoff (eVTOL) that would be accessible and functional. Alef received valuable help from Tim Draper, a well-known venture capitalist, who initially invested US$ 3 million to bring the program to life.
After years of hard work and continuous innovation, Alef Aeronautics unveiled on October 19, 2022, the “Model A”, the first fully electric flying car. According to the company, this remarkable flying electric car can travel 320 km driving or fly for 170 km. The Model A made history by becoming the first flying electric car to receive a Special Airworthiness Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States.
Alef Has Already Registered 2,500 Pre-Orders for the Flying Electric Car
The Model A, which is set to begin production in the fourth quarter of 2025, is already making waves even before its official launch. Although it won’t be released for at least another two years, Alef has already registered 2,500 pre-orders for the flying electric car, generating a potential revenue of US$ 750,000, or R$ 3.5 billion in direct conversion, after delivery.

Tesla receives a massive order for 370 electric trucks and will now have to prove that the Semi can truly handle heavy transport in California.
The company started accepting pre-orders for Model A, which is priced at $ 300,000, with an option to make a deposit of $ 150 for the regular queue or $ 1,500 for priority. The phenomenal response to the pre-order call includes 2,100 deposits from individuals and contracts with companies to sell 400 cars, including one with a dealer in California.
Alef’s CEO, Jim Dukhovny, expressed his excitement by saying:
“We are thrilled to see strong initial interest in Alef’s flying electric car. We are grateful for the thanks and inspiration we have received with some of the pre-orders. We still have a journey to take before starting deliveries, but where we’re going, roads are not needed.”

The Continuous Evolution of Flying Electric Cars
The Model A, which can carry one or two passengers and can be driven on public roads with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, is just the beginning. Alef is already thinking about its next project, the “Model Z” which will be a sedan for four people with over 480 km of flight range. The launch of Model Z is scheduled for 2035, with prices starting at $ 35,000.
In addition to Alef Aeronautics, several companies are finalizing the development of their prototypes of flying electric cars, including the Aero HT from the Chinese EV manufacturer XPeng, which was the first manned eVTOL to receive a flight license in China earlier this year. In the United States, a company called Doroni Aerospace was one of the first to successfully test a two-seat eVTOL.
