Due To Fire Risks, Volkswagen Car Manufacturer’s Spokesperson Announced Recall Of Thousands Of Hybrid Vehicles
More than 100,000 Volkswagen plug-in hybrid vehicles will need to be recalled worldwide due to fire risk. According to a spokesperson for the German car company who spoke on March 31st, Thursday, about 42,300 owners of Passat, Golf, Tiguan, and Arteon car models around the globe will be notified that their hybrid vehicles will need repairs.
It is important to note that car recalls due to fire risks are not exclusive to Volkswagen, which follows the trend of autonomous driving, as the recall in the Audi brand involves more than 24,000 cars, and the companies Seat and Skoda are also affected by this process.
Probability Of Fire In Hybrid Cars
According to a report released by the news site Exame, due to an insufficiently insulated high-voltage battery, the risk of fire is real in hybrid vehicles, i.e., cars that combine a traditional combustion engine with an electric power source and are charged via a socket, both from Volkswagen – which is also betting on ethanol for expansion in the Brazilian market – and from any other automaker.
