Dimensions And Innovative Design
The YU7 is a mid to large-sized electric SUV built on the Modena platform, which allows for robust performance combined with sophisticated comfort.
Its dimensions reach 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,608 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The weight varies between 2,140 kg and 2,460 kg, depending on the selected configuration, and the available wheels measure 19 or 20 inches.
One of the key differentiators of the YU7 is its body, which offers nine color options, including metallic shades and a green tone inspired by Colombian emeralds, a touch that highlights Xiaomi’s attention to design.
Another innovation is the “metallic titanium” version, which uses powdered aluminum with larger particles, creating visual effects that change depending on the angle of view, nicknamed “titanium skin.”
The SUV also features retractable door handles with ambient lighting and UWB (Ultra Wideband) technology, allowing access to the vehicle via smartphone without the need for keys, including the trunk opening.

High-Standard Interior And Cutting-Edge Technology
Inside, the YU7 features Nappa leather upholstery, with front seats that simulate the feeling of “zero gravity.”
They can recline up to 123° and offer 10-point massage, a combination that promises maximum comfort for occupants.
The rear seats are equally impressive, with electric adjustment of up to 135° and a 6.68-inch screen dedicated to climate control, music, and navigation.
The central panel is a standout feature, consisting of three Mini LED screens with retina resolution of 108 PPD, adding up to 1.1 meters in width in the display called “HyperVision.”
The system integrates vehicle data, media, blind spots, and customizable widgets, all aimed at making the driving experience more intuitive and safe.
Xiaomi bets on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 4-nanometer technology to ensure exceptional electronic performance.
This processor allows the system to boot up in just 1.35 seconds and perform OTA updates in up to 15 minutes, placing the YU7 at the forefront of automotive connectivity.

Performance And Versions Of The YU7
The electric SUV will be offered in three main versions, each with specific configurations for motorization and performance.
- YU7 RWD: rear motor of 235 kW (320 hp) and torque of 528 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
- YU7 Pro AWD: with all-wheel drive and two motors totaling 365 kW (496 hp) and torque of 690 Nm, accelerates in 4.27 seconds and maintains a top speed of 240 km/h.
- YU7 Max AWD: the most powerful version, with combined motors of 508 kW (691 hp) and torque of 866 Nm, accelerates in an impressive 3.23 seconds and reaches a top speed of 253 km/h.
The line’s motorization is provided by United Automotive Electronics (UAES), and the Max version uses a front motor of 220 kW (299 hp) alongside a rear motor of 295 kW (401 hp).
All versions operate on an 800-volt electric architecture with silicon carbide, enabling ultra-fast recharges – it is possible to add up to 620 km of range in just 15 minutes of charging.

Range And Types Of Battery
The Xiaomi YU7 features different capacities and types of battery depending on the version, with estimated range according to the CLTC cycle, a standard used in Asia for electric vehicles.
- RWD Version: LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery of 96.3 kWh, with a range of up to 835 km.
- Pro AWD Version: same LFP battery, but range reduced to up to 770 km due to all-wheel drive.
- Max AWD Version: NCM (nickel-cobalt-manganese) battery of 101.7 kWh, offering up to 760 km of range.
This variation shows Xiaomi’s efforts to balance power, weight, and efficiency for different usage profiles.

Safety And Technological Assistants
In terms of safety, the YU7 features a robust structure, including a protection cage made with ultra-high-strength steel (2,200 MPa) and a front frame of die-cast aluminum that combines 20 elements for maximum rigidity.
The hybrid body, called “armored cage,” unites steel and aluminum to ensure resistance without excessively increasing weight.
The battery receives a reinforced, bulletproof casing, which has passed more than 50 rigorous passive safety tests.
The A and B pillars received special reinforcements for extra collision protection.
Technologically, the SUV is equipped with Lidar sensors, 4D radar with millimeter waves, cameras with anti-reflective coating (ALD), and a semi-autonomous driving system developed by Xiaomi itself.
This system is managed by the Nvidia Drive AGX Thor platform, which offers 700 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of processing capability, placing the YU7 among the most advanced vehicles in driver assistance.

Launch Delay And Forecast For July
The official launch of the YU7 was scheduled for the Shanghai Auto Show but was postponed following a fatal accident involving an autonomous vehicle in Xiaomi’s testing.
The company conducted a thorough review of safety and communication protocols before announcing that the debut will be in July 2025.
The SUV production will take place in China, and pre-consultation for the market is already underway.
The price is expected to range between 300,000 and 400,000 yuan (approximately R$ 234,000 to R$ 312,000), much higher than previous rumors, reinforcing the YU7’s positioning as a premium model in the electric SUV category.

What To Expect From Xiaomi’s Future In The Automotive Sector?
With the YU7, Xiaomi shows that it is not just entering the automotive market but is instead seeking leadership in technology and innovation.
Its investment in design, performance, range, and safety places the company on a competitive level with traditional giants in the industry.
Moreover, the integration of advanced connectivity systems and rapid over-the-air updates indicates that the YU7 is a vehicle prepared for the future, with the potential to attract consumers who value both technology and sustainability.
