With the selection process open until May 27, the Florianópolis City Hall seeks to form a reserve list for teachers, assistants, and school teams. Selection will not have a written test, will be done by titles, offers remuneration from R$ 1,374.61 to R$ 6,056.38, and was published days after the strike of the municipal employees of the capital.

The emergency selection process for Education was opened by the Florianópolis City Hall this Friday, May 22, to form a reserve list for positions of teachers, assistants, school administrators, counselors, and supervisors. The selection takes place in the capital of Santa Catarina and received applications a few days after the end of the municipal employees’ strike.

According to the portal ND Mais, applications continue until Wednesday, May 27, with fees between R$ 40 and R$ 60, depending on the chosen position. The classification of candidates will be done in a single stage, only by analysis of titles, without the application of a written test, with the required documentation to be submitted by 5 p.m. on the last day of application.

Reserve list will be used for different functions in Education

The notice does not specify a fixed number of immediate vacancies. The selection process was structured to form a reserve list, a mechanism used by public administration to call professionals according to need, budget availability, and demand from school units.

Among the planned functions are Classroom Assistant, Support Professional, School Administrator, Educational Counselor, School Supervisor, and different teaching positions. The list includes areas such as Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Mathematics, Portuguese, English, History, Geography, Science, Arts, Dance, LIBRAS, and Educational Technology.

Salaries can exceed R$ 6 thousand, depending on the position

The remunerations reported in the selection process range from R$ 1,374.61 to R$ 6,056.38, considering salaries and benefits. The final amount depends on the role, working hours, and the rules outlined in the notice, so candidates need to check the specific job description before completing their application.

The selection process also includes a participation fee. The amounts range from R$ 40 to R$ 60, but there is a possibility of exemption for candidates registered in CadÚnico, blood donors, and voluntary bone marrow donors, provided the request is made within the established deadline.

Selection will be done only by title evaluation

One of the most relevant points of the notice is the absence of a written exam. The selection of candidates will be made exclusively through the analysis of titles, making academic and professional documentation decisive for classification in the selection process.

Candidates must prove their education, postgraduate studies, and other titles accepted by the notice by submitting the required documents. As the deadline ends at 5 PM on May 27, any mistake or delay can compromise participation, even if the candidate has the necessary qualifications for the position.

Publication occurred days after the end of the strike

The opening of the selection process occurred one week after the end of the strike by municipal employees in Florianópolis. The strike ended on May 15, after 23 days of mobilization that began on April 23, amid deadlocks in base date negotiations.

Despite the proximity of the events, the Florianópolis City Hall did not confirm a direct link between the selection process and the end of the strike. Therefore, the safest point is to record the chronological sequence: the notice was published after the strike, but without any official association declared by the municipal administration.

Strike involved salaries, public competition, and working conditions

During the mobilization, employees presented demands related to salary adjustment, compliance with federal laws, the minimum wage for community agents and endemic disease control, as well as issues related to Health and Education.

Requests for public competition, calling of approved candidates, reduction of outsourcing, defense of public pensions, and reduction of working hours without salary cuts were also mentioned. The category also reported structural problems in municipal units, while the Justice declared the strike illegal during the period of stoppage.

Registration requires attention to deadlines and documents

As the selection process will be decided by credentials, the registration stage should not be treated merely as filling out a form. The candidate needs to check the position, requirements, fee, scoring criteria, and accepted documents, as the classification will depend on the submitted proof.

Another important point is that a reserve list does not represent an automatic call. The call may occur according to the needs of the municipal education network. In practice, the notice creates a list of candidates eligible for future substitutions or temporary hires, without a promise of immediate hiring for all classified candidates.

What to follow from now on

The selection process in Florianópolis opens a new front in municipal education at a sensitive moment, right after a strike that mobilized workers and put salaries, structure, competitions, and hiring methods up for debate. For candidates, the short registration period requires quick organization and careful reading of the notice.

For the school community, the issue goes beyond the selection itself: it involves the network’s ability to maintain complete teams, serve students, and respond to the demands presented by professionals. Do you believe that a reserve list by credentials solves the urgencies of Education, or should the path be a public competition with defined positions? Leave your opinion in the comments.
