The Senator’s Articulation to Attract the Factory to the City of Lajes
In a meeting with the potiguar senator, Nordex/Acciona’s commercial director, David Lobo, emphasized the region’s importance, strategic for the company as it is in the center of the State and close to the main wind farms: “We want to make the inauguration of the factory feasible by the first half of next year,” stated the director.
For Senator Jean Paul, bringing the factory to Lajes is another sign of how the market in the sector is growing exponentially in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The directors sought the senator’s articulation with the State Government and the City Hall of Lajes: “Much is said about the counterpart that wind energy generates for RN. Beyond the energy self-sufficiency guaranteed to our State, the sector also offers direct and indirect jobs that empower the potiguar workforce and have a direct impact on people’s lives. I have already spoken with the mayor of Lajes, Felipe Menezes, and I am in dialogue with Governor Fátima Bezerra to accelerate the arrival of this new boost to our economy,” he stated.

Meanwhile, SR Energia’s director, Eduardo Vieira, defended the investment to boost the wind sector: “In order to ensure the necessary infrastructure for the installation of parks with concrete support towers, we need to bring the factory closer, reducing costs and increasing construction capacity,” he pointed out.
