The acquired property has about 30 thousand square meters of built area on a lot measuring 156 thousand square meters and will undergo modifications to meet pharmaceutical industry standards. Both the renovation and the acquisition of equipment take time, with expectations for the factory to begin operating in 2023.
This investment adds to another R$ 100 million being invested by the company in Pouso Alegre, in Southern Minas, in a factory for injectable medicines (ampoules and vials) that is already in operation.

Social programs are shrinking in Brazil and reveal a curious fact in 2025: even at their lowest level since 2022, benefits still contribute to the income of 18 million households, demonstrating the silent strength of aid in family budgets and exposing a new portrait of social dependence in the country.
Job Generation at the New Factory
The city of Montes Claros was chosen to host the factory because it offers tax incentives for industry establishment and due to the fact that the property already has good infrastructure, speeding up the necessary construction and adaptations for the start of production. The region also has qualified labor, and approximately 700 direct jobs will be generated over the next five years.
The President of the Board of Directors and General Director of Laboratory Cristália, Ricardo Pacheco, says that this acquisition is part of Cristália’s expansion plan, which works daily to meet the growing market demand in Brazil in the coming years.
