Launch of New Sport Scooter from Yamaha Draws Attention for Aggressive Design, Advanced Connectivity, and Competitive Price Within the Urban Segment.
Yamaha has officially introduced the Aerox ABS Connected to the Brazilian market, a new sport-oriented scooter that arrives at dealerships with a suggested price of R$ 18,990 (excluding shipping) and four years of warranty.
The model will debut in January 2026, positioned below the NMax, currently the best-selling scooter from the brand in the country, and bets on aggressive design, a 155 cc engine, and a technology package with connectivity via the Y-Connect app.

The Aerox ABS Connected comes equipped with a single-cylinder engine of 155 cc, featuring an aluminum DiASil cylinder and a VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) system.
This feature adjusts the valve opening according to the revs to optimize performance across different usage ranges.
The set delivers 15.4 hp at 8,000 rpm and 1.4 kgf.m at 6,500 rpm, always connected to the automatic CVT transmission.
In addition to the variable valve actuation, the model incorporates an intelligent Stop & Start system, which shuts off the engine at stops and restarts it when accelerating, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Suspension, Brakes, and Wide Tires
For the suspension setup, the Aerox uses a 100 mm travel telescopic front fork and a rear suspension with 86 mm, equipped with dual subtanks.
The chassis is of the Backbone type, prioritizing rigidity and stability.
The brakes are disc on both wheels, with diameters of 230 mm for both the front and the rear.
The ABS system operates on the front wheel, reducing the risk of locking during harsh braking.
The tires reinforce the sporty proposal: 110/80-14 at the front and 140/70-14 at the rear.
The width of the rear tire is one of the model’s highlights and contributes to grip in corners.
Smart Key, Y-Connect, and Blackout Panel
In terms of equipment, the Aerox ABS Connected incorporates a Smart Key, which allows the bike to be started by proximity.
The Answer Back feature activates the blinkers and a sound alert to locate the scooter in parking lots.
There is a storage compartment with a lid and a USB-C port for charging devices.
The technological highlight is the integration with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect (Y-Connect) app.
With it, the rider can monitor performance data, fuel consumption, maintenance history, the most efficient riding mode, and the location of the parked scooter.
The digital panel follows the blackout style, with a dark background and light graphics.
Indicator lights show the status of ABS, Smart Key, VVA, Stop & Start, and the ECO function.
Dimensions, Capacity, and Weight
The Aerox ABS Connected measures 1,980 mm in length, 710 mm in width, and 1,170 mm in height.
The wheelbase is 1,350 mm.
The seat height is 790 mm, while the minimum ground clearance is 145 mm.
The tank has a capacity of 5.5 liters, prioritizing the efficiency of the mechanical set.
The weight in running order is 127 kg, considered one of the lightest among scooters of this size.
Under the seat, the compartment accommodates a full-face helmet, with additional space for small items.
Colors, Arrival in Stores, and Market Positioning
The Aerox ABS Connected will arrive at Brazilian dealerships in January 2026 in the colors Racing Blue, Moon Silver, and Midnight Black.
The scooter also integrates the Fixed Price Revision program, which publicly discloses periodic service prices in advance.
In commercial positioning, the Aerox 160 joins Yamaha’s scooter line, which includes the NMax and Fluo.
