The Volkswagen Factory in São Bernardo do Campo Opened Its Doors for Unique Visits. The Public Can Follow the Vehicle Production Process and Get Close to the Brand’s Historical Collection on a Free Guided Tour.
The factory of Volkswagen at Anchieta, in São Bernardo do Campo, opened to the public a free guided tour program that travels through the assembly line and the historical collection of the brand.
For the first time, interested visitors can follow, in a single route, the industrial routine and the automotive memory of one of the most traditional hubs of the sector in Brazil.
Registration is mandatory and done online, directly on the automaker’s website.

In North Korea, residents take bottles, plastic, fabric, paper, and metal to recycling shops and exchange waste for products as sanctions, closed borders, and a more than 80% drop in trade with China pressure the country to replace imports.
Production Stages on the Assembly Line
Over approximately 2h30, the tour presents the fundamental stages of the production process.
It starts with stamping, proceeds to chassis framing, and ends with the final assembly of vehicles.
The public follows areas where it is possible to observe the work rhythm and the integration between people, robots, and quality control systems.
The explanations are conducted by guides from Volkswagen itself, in Portuguese or English.

Volkswagen Garage and Historical Collection
In addition to the factory floor, the route includes the Volkswagen Garage, a space dedicated to models that marked an era in the country.
The visitor sees close-up classics such as Beetle, Kombi, and SP1, and learns about conservation and curation details of the collection. The garage was recently expanded to accommodate more rarities.
Schedules, Registrations, and Recommendations
Visits take place every Thursday, in two shifts: 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Scheduling must be done in advance, and access is only granted upon confirmation of name on the list.
The recommendation is to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. The Anchieta Gate is the meeting point and has parking for visitors.
Experience Rules

The experience is institutional and not technical. There are no test drives or chats with engineering departments. For operational reasons, it is not possible to visit just the Garage in isolation.
Models Produced at the Unit
The Anchieta unit currently produces models such as Nivus, Polo Track, Virtus, and Saveiro.
During the tour, sections of these lines may be in operation, allowing observers to see from the joining of sheets to the installation of internal components and quality testing at the end of the line.
The dynamics vary according to the daily schedule of the factory, but the route covers strategic points to understand the assembly sequence.
Demand and Registrations
The opening occurred in July 2025, with batches of slots gradually made available. The demand has been high since the beginning: the first groups sold out quickly, leading Volkswagen to reopen new dates in succession.
For those who intend to go, the guidance is to keep an eye on the calendar in the reservation system and activate the waiting list when necessary.
Accessibility
Accessibility is part of the planning. People with disabilities can inform specific needs at the time of registration so that the visit can be adapted with audio, signage, and mobility assistance.

In organized groups, it is possible to request additional adjustments, respecting safety rules.
Guide dogs are permitted according to legislation. Other animals are not allowed in the internal areas.
Who Can Participate
Entry is restricted to adults over 18 years, upon presentation of a photo ID.
Individual registrations form mixed groups accompanied by a guide.
Exclusive visits require 15 to 30 participants, with internal transport organized by the group itself.
In any case, the group capacity is limited to 30 people.
Dress Code and Conduct Rules
There are specific dress and conduct guidelines. For safety reasons, Volkswagen requests long pants and long-sleeved shirts.
Jewelry should be avoided or removed, such as rings, earrings, necklaces, and watches.
The use of mobile phones is restricted: photos and videos are only allowed in the Garage and at designated points during the tour.
In case of necessity, the tour may be canceled without prior notice, without coverage for travel costs.
What to See in Practice
The logic of the visit follows the industrial process itself: turning sheets into chassis, integrating subassemblies, and finally, testing the finished vehicle.
Along the way, the public visualizes jigs, robotic welding stations, and manual finishing stages.

Although the experience is not technical, the progressive exposure shows why certain phases have more automation and how engineering decisions impact ergonomics and line pace.
Connection Between Past and Present
For those seeking the historical side, the Garage complements what can be seen in production.
It connects past and present by displaying prototypes and special series alongside popular icons.
The contrast with the current line highlights how the brand has incorporated new technologies without abandoning the identity of its most recognized models.
A Complete Journey
The program combines two attractions in a single journey: immersion in the factory floor and direct contact with cars that are part of Brazilian automotive history.
To participate, simply check the available dates, choose the language, and fill out the form.
As spots are limited and demand is high, those who plan ahead increase their chances of securing a place.
If you could choose, would you prefer to watch the assembly of a current car or closely visit the classic models in the Garage?
