In A Month Of Turnarounds, The Toyota Model Not Only Retook Its Leadership But Also Saw The Rise Of Three Chinese Models To The Top 5, Changing The Category Landscape In Brazil.
The medium SUV market flipped upside down in June. The Toyota Corolla Cross not only regained its position as the best-selling vehicle in Brazil but did so dominantly. Leaving its rival Jeep Compass behind, the Toyota model reassumed leadership in a month marked by the impressive strength of Chinese vehicles, which took prominent positions in the ranking.
The Unbeatable Performance Of Toyota In June
June was a month of recovery and victory for Toyota. The Corolla Cross reached the impressive mark of 5,335 units registered, comfortably securing the top spot. This result confirms the strength of the SUV, which reversed the scenario of May and established itself as the favorite in the category.
Jeep Compass Loses Strength And Ranks Second
The Jeep Compass, which celebrated its lead the previous month, could not sustain its performance. With 4,546 units sold in June, the model dropped to second place. The nearly 800-unit difference to the Corolla Cross raised a warning sign for Jeep in the fierce competition.

Right behind, the Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 (with 2,589 registrations) and the GWM Haval H6 (with 2,497) completed the Top 5, demonstrating an unprecedented dominance by these brands in the segment.
The Scenario Of Medium SUVs In Brazil
The medium SUVs segment proved its relevance. The category accounted for nearly 14.5% of all vehicles sold in Brazil in June. In total, 29,267 units were sold, a volume 11.6% higher than the same month last year, indicating a strong and growing market.
Warning Sign For The Volkswagen Taos
While Toyota celebrates, Volkswagen has reasons to worry. The Volkswagen Taos landed only in sixth place, with 889 units sold. This marks the third consecutive month the SUV has failed to surpass the one thousand registration mark, showing difficulties in competing with the market leaders.
