The Journey to Become an Officer
The path to becoming an officer at CBMERJ is challenging and requires commitment. During the training course, which lasts four years, cadets will receive a salary of R$4,127.17. In addition, the selection process is rigorous, consisting of several stages.
Exams and Evaluation Criteria of the CBMERJ Contest
Participants in the CBMERJ Contest will undergo objective tests, which have eliminatory and classificatory nature. There are 100 questions distributed across subjects such as Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Foreign Language (English), and Sociology. To be considered approved in the objective exam, the candidate must answer at least 50 questions correctly.
Physical Fitness Test (TAF)
In addition to the written exams, the CBMERJ Contest requires candidates to undergo a Physical Fitness Test (TAF). This test includes swimming (100 meters), middle-distance running, upper limb push-ups and sit-ups, and abdominal exercises (with 35 repetitions to be performed). Therefore, physical preparation is as essential as theoretical knowledge to secure a position as an officer in the Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
